The Swoppets (Britains) Catalog (60s UK).

The Swoppets range of 1:32 plastic figures with interchangeable parts appeared in 1958, originally as a range of "cowboy" figures, which were later joined by a group of "indians" (i.e. Native Americans), and then Fifteenth Century Knights in armour, and British Infantry. Most of the figures were produced by Britains Ltd., and designed by Roy Selwyn-Smith, a highly-respected sculptor very experienced in designing for plastic who had been designing for Herald Miniatures until Britains took over the company. According to James Opie's book on toy soldiers (2016), "... the Swoppets were without doubt the best looking movable part figures ever produced".

UN peacekeeping troops

Peacekeeping by the United Nations is a role held by the Department of Peacekeeping Operations as "a unique and dynamic instrument developed by the organization as a way to help countries torn by conflict to create the conditions for lasting peace".It is distinguished from peacebuilding, peacemaking, and peace enforcement although the United Nations does acknowledge that all activities are "mutually reinforcing" and that overlap between them is frequent in practice.
These UN peacekeepers are made by Britains. The Panhard AML (1/50) is made by Solido.

Finnish ski troops (Britains)

Ski troops played a key role in the successes of the Finnish war effort against the Soviet Union during the Winter War in 1939 ( 30 November 1939 – 13 March 1940). Forested, rural terrain with no roads was used by Finnish ski troops with great success against the advancing mechanized Soviet troops.
These Britains made soldiers are from the Museu Militar do Porto's collection.

Battle of Stalingrad : Last days of the 6th Army (Wehrmacht).

The 6th Army, a field-army unit of the German Wehrmacht during World War II (1939-1945), has become widely remembered for its destruction by the Red Army at the Battle of Stalingrad in the winter of 1942/43. The army surrendered between 31 January and 2 February 1943.German casualties are 147,200 killed and wounded and over 91,000 captured, the latter including 24 generals and 2,500 officers of lesser rank.Only 5,000 would return to Germany after the war.

American Civil War

The American Civil War was a war fought in the United States from 1861 to 1865.The Civil War is the most studied and written about episode in U.S. history.Primarily as a result of the long-standing controversy over the enslavement of black people, war broke out in April 1861 when secessionist forces attacked Fort Sumter in South Carolina shortly after Abraham Lincoln had been inaugurated as the President of the United States. The loyalists of the Union in the North proclaimed support for the Constitution. They faced secessionists of the Confederate States in the South, who advocated for states' rights to uphold slavery.

These unionists and confederates are from different makers (CBG Mignot, Britains and others) (The Museu Mlitar do Porto).
