J.R.D. French colonail soldiers 🇫🇷🌴🏝️🐪🐫🏜️
J.R.D. toy soldiers, produced by the French company founded in 1935 by Jean Rabier and Donnot, are renowned for their distinctive Art Deco-influenced sculpting style. Cast in 80 and 85 mm using a slate powder paste, these composition figures depict a wide range of French colonial troops, including Spahis, Zouaves, Algerians, Senegalese, Tonkinese, and French Foreign Legion soldiers. The figures, such as the laying shooting Spahi and Legionnaire shown here, are highly sought after not only by toy soldier collectors but also by Art Deco enthusiasts, with their rarity and craftsmanship commanding quite high prices on the collectors’ market.
