"J’envoie mon baiser à Papa" – “I send my kiss to Daddy.”
A beautifully hand-tinted French postcard from the First World War, published by La Pensée (no. 74). It shows a young boy sending a kiss to his father at the front while proudly waving the French tricolour. On the table before him stand rows of toy soldiers, miniature cannons, and Allied flags — a child’s playworld echoing the realities of war.
